Tonight on a very special "Bickersons ..." Everybody fights! Course, C.J. did have a point. But when the boss says that' the line ... well, that's the line.

#505 "Constituency of One"

From TVGuide
It's Josh's birthday, but Will receives what could be a gift: an offer to be the new VP's top aide. "You can shape the next presidency from the ground up," Russell (Gary Cole) tells him.

Meanwhile, Toby's determined to push his "message calendar"; Amy (Mary-Louise Parker) does some skillful (perhaps too skillful) lobbying on appropriations for domestic-violence prevention; a conservative Democratic senator (Tom Skerritt) is holding up military promotions and Josh is having difficulty getting him to change his mind; CJ and Leo clash over coal.

LIFE IMITATING ART
West Wingers will remember episode #303 "Ways and Means."

In episode #303 ("Ways and Means") Bartlet is trying to decide whether to rely on a weather report which states that a storm is coming which will put out a fire "naturally," thereby supporting the wacked out environmental policy of democrats against clearcutting and thining out of our nation's forests in order to keep them maintained. The fire is raging and The President is sure that "Letting this fire burn is good for the environment."

And how does he know? "Cause smart people told me." The President says.

What's sad about it is that in real life, THAT'S THE POLICY!

Well, every "smart person" I've heard talking about the WILDFIRES in Sourthern California has said that PREVENTING the thining of the forests, and removal of dead treeshas actually CONTRIBUTED to fire conditions in Southern California. That the forests are suffering from a bark beetle infestation due to TOO MANY trees in the forest. Now the trees are dead and ripe fuel for a fire.

500,000 acres. 1500 homes destroyed. 16 people DEAD. FAMILIES LIVES DESTROYED. TWENTY-FOUR MILLION DOLLARS IN FIRE FIGHTING COSTS.

That's one hell of an environmental policy.
