HAIL TO THE CHIEF

REUTERS reports:
"Martin Sheen may have shown up first in The West Wing, but television audiences are currently embracing ('24' President Dennis) Haysbert as their favorite leader."

Is that because Haysbert's portrayal of an embattled president is more presidential, a more dramatic storyline instead of preaching from the liberal bully pulpit? Or simply because Haybert tends to keep his personal views to himself?

SORKIN PASSES ON BLAIR

A Wing And A Blair? Sorkin Takes A Pass

Aaron Sorkin, creator of "The West Wing," has said no to a prospective TV miniseries about a dysfunctional newsroom for which Jayson Blair would be consultant. This is according to Tuesday's Page Six of the New York Post. Sorkin, the column pointed out, dates New York Times op-ed columnist Maureen Dowd, who was one of the darlings of Times executive editor Howell Raines, who resigned last week.

Even Sorkin has standards about how far one can stretch the truth.

'West Wing,' '24' provide civics lesson
How to be a liberal in one semester or less ... ;)

The Charlotte Observer is reporting on how shows like THE WEST WING and `24' are providing insight into the 25th Amendment for local area schools.

And although both shows created situations which stretch the limit of Constitutional and Political reality, they do provide a case of how, if done correctly, schools can use television to enhance the educational experience, rather than just brainwash kids to be little liberals who feel good about their failure.

On the Sorkin front, seems he's got a new main squeeze. According to KTLA Entertainment reporter Sam Rubin, Aaron Sorkin is dating N.Y. Times Uber Lib Columnist MAUREEN DOWD!

Yikes, what a hottie.
